
Alice Smith had a double hat trick Tuesday as Lyon County’s girls fended off Crittenden County 10-4 in 5th District soccer action in Eddyville.
The Lady Lyon junior scored her team’s first four goals as Lyon ran out to a 4-1 lead.
Smith had goals in the 24th, 25th, 32nd and 38th minutes.
Meanwhile, Crittenden’s Elizabeth Campbell scored the Lady Rockets’ first three goals.
Campbell had tallies in the 30th, 39th and 44th minutes. Her third goal got Crittenden as close as 4-3.
But the Lady Rockets could never rein in the Lady Lyon offense.
Lyon, which outshot Crittenden 42-9 in the contest, used an Anna Crawford goal in the 50th minute to go up 5-3.
Anna White scored off a rebound in the 52nd minute, then Smith found the net again in the 54th minute.
Crittenden’s Ella Geary ran on to a long ball and scored in the 60th minute to keep the Lady Rockets within 7-4.
But Smith scored her sixth goal in the 62nd minute.
Eden Jones finished in front following a corner kick in the 68th minute to extend Lyon’s lead to 9-4.
White picked up her second goal in the 78th minute to put the finishing touches on the Lady Lyons’ district win.
White added an assist in the contest while Olivia Adams had two assists.
Lyon is now 4-2-1 overall and 1-1 in 5th District play.
Richmond Herring had four saves and Sadie Gandee had two saves in the Lyon net.
Hannah Long had 14 saves for Crittenden (3-2, 0-1).
The Lady Rockets got two assists from Geary and one assist each from Campbell and Karsyn Potter.
Crittenden will host district foe Trigg County on Thursday.
Lyon will entertain Webster County on Friday.
