Caldwell’s Girls Blank Hoptown to Even All-Time Series

Freshman Kinlee Rowland scored four times Thursday night to help Caldwell County end a three-game losing skid.

Rowland’s first goals of the season helped Caldwell blank Hopkinsville 6-0 at Butler Stadium in Princeton.
Caldwell outshot Hoptown 15-4 while evening the all-time series 22-22-1.

Rowland scored the game’s first goal in the 23rd minute, getting help from Keegan Miller and scoring from the left side.

Harper Ritchey scored an unassisted tally in the 32nd minute to make it 2-0.

Rowland struck again in the 36th minute, this time getting help from Ritchey. Rowland was able to beat the goalkeeper to the long ball and put it in the net to send Caldwell to halftime with a 3-0 edge.

Rowland wasted little time after the break getting her hat trick, scoring in the 43rd minute to extend the margin to 4-0.

Miller knocked home a penalty kick just under the bar in the 52nd minute to make it 5-0.

Rowland added another goal for good measure in the 72nd minute. Miller picked up her second assist on the play as Caldwell went up 6-0.

Caldwell keepers Abbey Gill and Lainey Beshear each played a half in the shutout. Gill made two saves in the first half while Beshear did not have to make a stop in the final 40 minutes.

DeAijha Tullis recorded seven saves for Hopkinsville.

Caldwell is now 4-4 while Hoptown is 3-3-2.

Hopkinsville will play a pair of games in the Christian County Lady Colonel Classic on Saturday, facing Kirkwood from Clarksville, Tennessee, at 3 p.m. before taking on Todd County Central at 7 p.m.
Caldwell is off until Tuesday when it hosts Crittenden County.
