Erin Coffel has added another impressive honor to her already historic resume with Kentucky softball.

The senior shortstop was one of 16 players picked to play for Team USA at the Pan Am Games in Santiago, Chili, Oct. 29-Nov. 4.

The Women’s National Team Selection Committee only picked one current college player — Coffel. The other 15 team members are former collegiate athletes including former Southeastern Conference standouts Aliyah Andrews, Mia Davidson, Montana Fouts, Savanna Jaquish, Aubrey Leach, Amanda Lorenz and Haylie McCleney.

Coffel has  been a starter from day one at Kentucky for coach Rachel Lawson and had 19 home runs and 10 doubles last season when she hit .440, scored 60 runs and drove in 55. She also walked a nation-best 64 times and joined teammate Kayla Kowalik as the first two-time National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association All-Americans in UK history.

Coffel has a chance to become UK’s all-time leader in both home runs and RBI’s.
