The Webster County Trojans may have been late getting to their game against the Todd County Central Rebels Friday night, but when they got there, they were ready to ‘run.’ The Trojans racked up over 500 yards of total offense, 416 of that coming on the ground as they picked up a 47-28 win.
At the half, the game did not look like one that would see that many points put on the scoreboard. The Trojans led just 12-0 at the half, but the two teams then exploded for a combined 63 points in the final 24 minutes, which made for both fireworks and a long night at the stadium.
Webster County got on the board first, taking advantage of a Rebel fumble in their own end of the field. Jarvis Starks Scott ran a sweep around left end and took off on a 44-yard touchdown run to give the Trojans a 6-0 lead in the waning moments of the first quarter.
The Trojans struck again inside the final two minutes of the half and again it was Jarvis Starks Scott, this time on a 36-yard pass from Blake Hanor to give Webster County the 12-0 halftime lead.

Todd Central got on the board on the opening possession of the second half when Miles Reding hit B.J. Farlow on a slant for 36 yards as the Rebels closed to within 12-7 with 9:43 left in the third. And the fireworks were just beginning.
Webster County fumbled the ball to the Rebels, but Todd Central was unable to take advantage, going three and out. The very next play Jackson Edens scampered 57 yards to make it 18-7. The Rebels next possession ended with Webster County blocking a punt out of the end zone to extend the lead to 20-7.
Less than two minutes later, it was Jackson Edens again, this time taking a short pass from Blake Hanor 50 yards for the score to make it 27-7.
The Rebels struck back in the first 30 seconds of the final quarter on a Miles Reding 4-yard run to cut the lead to 27-14. The Rebels had the ball again after a Webster County turnover with a chance to make it a one-score game with still more than seven minutes left. But the rally was snuffed out when Ayden Preston picked off a Miles Reding pass and took it back 50 yards for the score to make it 35-14.

Todd Central came right back down the field and scored less than 90 seconds later. Miles Reding found Antonio Fitzgerald for a 15-yard score with 6:06 left in the game to cut the lead back to 35-21.
But then it was Jackson Edens time again. After the Trojans were pinned up at their own 17, Edens took a handoff and rambled 83 yards to push the lead back out to 41-21 with 5:35 left. The Trojans then put the game away when Ayden Preston scored from five yards out to make the score 47-21.
The offensive explosion would end when Quinton Grace ripped off a 57-yard run in the final minute to set the final score at 47-28.
Webster County finished the game with 416 yards rushing and 93 yards passing for 509 total yards of offense. The Trojans did have trouble with ball security, turning it over four times in the game. Webster was also penalized seven times for 55 yards.

Todd Central finished with 211 yards rushing and 124 yards passing for 335 total yards. Quinton Grace was the leading rusher with 12 carries for 110 yards and a score. Miles Reding was 9 of 34 through the air with two touchdowns. He also rushed for 53 yards and a score. B.J. Farlow topped the receiver column with three catches for 64 yards and a touchdown.
Todd Central had its share of miscues on the night, turning the ball over three times and being penalized 9 times for 70 yards.
Each team had 13 first downs in the game.
Todd County Central drops to 1-2 with the loss. The Rebels will host Stewart County next Friday night.
