
Emmie Underwood continued the impressive start to her high school cross country career with a third straight win Saturday at the Calloway County Invitational in Murray.
The Fort Campbell 7th grader covered the 3.1-mile course in 20:11, eleven seconds faster than second place Reese Settle of Calloway County.
Underwood ran a 6:16 first mile and a 6:34 second mile as she steadily pulled away from Settle.
Another seventh grader, Makayla Finn finished in 6th place with a time of 23:40.
Ava Roberts was 26th and 27:15, two seconds ahead of teammate Emma Pirner.
Sophia McDonald finished in 33rd place, Natalie Mason was 39th and Sophia Thompson finished in 45th place.
As a team, Fort Campbell took first place with 62 points, eleven ahead of second place Calloway County.
