It’s one thing to be named the captain of your team. It’s a whole other thing to be named the captain of the guys’ team when you are a female.
But Heritage Christian Academy senior Rachel Robson has earned that distinction for this year’s Warrior soccer team. HCA’s roster is dotted with a few girls because the school doesn’t offer a girls’ team. But that doesn’t stop Robson from standing out and going toe to toe with the guys as a defender.
Her tenacious play has earned her accolades from other coaches and respect from opposing players.
In this YSE interview, Robson talked about her role for this year’s team and what it means to be named a team captain.
