The Hopkinsville volleyball team struggled to create points with service on Thursday in Morton’s Gap and found themselves on the wrong side of a 3-0 score against hosts Hopkins County Central.
The Lady Storm picked up their second win of the season and won for the fifth straight time in the series with the Lady Tigers. Hopkinsville slipped to 3-5 with a rematch between the teams coming up on Monday.
Hopkins Central took the opener 25-15 and held on for a 25-21 victory in the second set to put the Lady Tigers’ backs against the wall. Hoptown couldn’t mount a rally, falling 25-7 in the third to end the match.
Amy Toms led the way for Hopkinsville with six kills, followed by Ajayla Shiraef with four digs and three aces. Brooke Stewart and Florence Dim both had three digs for the Lady Tigers.
