While the night started promisingly for the Christian County Colonels, it did not finish that way. South Gibson took charge of the game after initially falling behind and went on to claim a 41-16 home field win over the Colonels.

Christian County broke on top in the game when Jordan Miles hooked up with JaSean Riley and, after the two-point conversion, the Colonels led 8-0.

Christian County then got introduced to Gabriel Lovorn. The big junior running back scored three straight touchdowns to give South Gibson a 21-8 lead. That would be the score as the two teams headed off into the locker room at the break.

A Cameron Clark touchdown early in the second half extended the lead out to 27-8. The scoring avalanche continued as Cade Beaver found the end zone to run the score out to 34-8.

The Colonels temporarily staved off the attack as JaSean Riley returned a punt to the house to cut the lead to 34-16.

Cade Beaver found the end zone again late in the third to push the lead back out to 41-16. The offensive fireworks slowed down at that point as that would be the final score in the game.

With the loss, Christian County drops to 1-2 for the season. The Colonels return home to the Stadium of Champions next Friday night to take on Marion.
