With the high school golf season beginning to wind its way down, golfers from Hopkinsville and Christian County were in Owensboro Saturday for the Region 2 Preview event at Ben Hawes State Park. One golfer each from Hopkinsville and Christian County came in with a Top 15 finish.
Individually, Will Hume, of Owensboro, was the top finisher for the day, shooting a 73. That score was one shot better than Heath Embry, of Muhlenberg County, and Jaxon Nunn, of Henderson County.
Andrew Riggs, of Hopkinsville, finished tenth with a round of 78. Christian County’s Jacob Jenkins also shot a 78 for the day and finished in eleventh place.
In team competition, Henderson County claimed first place with a team score of 312. Muhlenberg County was second with a 316, while Madisonville was third with a 317.
Hopkinsville finished in sixth place with a 332, while Christian County finished 12th with a score of 369.
