
At one point, Caldwell County’s girls had won 27 straight matches against Hopkins County Central in a string that ran from 1999 through 2020.
But the Lady Storm has now taken four of the last five meetings after picking up a 2-0 victory over the Lady Tigers Monday night in Mortons Gap.
Caldwell still leads the all-time series 32-7.
The two teams will meet again in three weeks in the first game of the 7th District tournament.
Caldwell’s girls are now 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the district.
The Lady Storm is 4-7 and 1-1 in district play.
The Lady Tigers will be in action again Tuesday night when they make the trip to Union County.
The Bravettes are 1-11 after falling 10-0 at Henderson County on Monday.
Caldwell’s girls have never lost to Union County, leading the all-time series 12-0.
