Coming off a heart-stopping one-goal win Wednesday night in the All A Classic sectional round of the girls’ state soccer tournament, you could have understood if the University Heights Academy Blazers would have had a little bit of a let down. They did not.

The Lady Blazers got hat tricks from Kendall Hancock and Audrey Grise as they manhandled defending 2nd Region champion Henderson County 7-1 Thursday night at Givens Field.

UHA came out and got right to work. Kendall Hancock scored off an assist from Audrey Perry just 6:30 into the match to give the Lady Blazers a 1-0 lead. Not long after, Perry had another assist, this time on a goal from Audrey Grise that made it 2-0.

Perry got her third assist of the night at the 18:17 mark when Kendall Hancock scored again to run the lead out to 3-0. Audrey Grise would score again before the half to take the score to 4-0 at the break.

Early in the second half, it was Kendall Hancock closing out her hat trick on another assist from Audrey Perry to make it 5-0. Audrey Grise was fouled in the box not long after that, and Audrey Perry scored the PK to make it 6-0.

After a Henderson goal temporarily staved off the big green wave, the Lady Blazers finished it off with a goal from Audrey Grise, giving her a hat trick, along with Kendall Hancock, as the Lady Blazers finished off the 7-1 win over the Lady Colonels.

In addition to a big night from the offense, the Lady Blazer defense was stifling, along Henderson virtually no good looks at the goal. Madison Williams finished the night with two saves in goal for the Lady Blazers.

The win broke a 15-match losing streak to Henderson County for UHA. The Lady Blazers tied the Lady Colonels 1-1 back in the 2013 season.

University Heights now improves to 9-1 with the win.
