Trigg County’s first-ever girls’ soccer match with a Tennessee school resulted in a 6-1 win at Kirkwood Thursday.
Lania Hite continued her season-long assault on the Trigg County record book with four more goals, giving her 35 for the season. Her first three goals came in a 19-minute stretch of the first half.
Addison Humphries added a goal late in the first half for a 4-0 lead at the break.
Leiah Hite scored off a feed from Hallie Joiner six minutes into the second half, and Lania added her final goal inside the final 10 minutes.
Leiah Hite had two assists with Addison Humphries and Brooke Humphries chipping in with an assist.
Anna Sink only faced three shots in goal as the Lady Wildcat defense held its fourth straight opponent to two goals or less.
Incredibly, the match at Kirkwood was Trigg’s first against a Tennessee school in the 20-year history of the program. Kirkwood is the newest school in Clarksville, which has opened five public or private high schools in the city since 1997.
Trigg County (11-2) will host Fort Campbell on Saturday morning at 11:30.
