After going two decades without a win over the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons, the Todd County Central Lady Rebels now have made it back-to-back wins over the Lady Falcons this season. Led by another huge night from senior Melanie Chamberlaine, the Lady Rebels rolled to a 5-0 win Thursday night in Elkton.
Chamberlaine, who entered the evening with 14 goals on the season, added four more to that total in the win over Fort Campbell.
She scored just 5:50 into the match on a shot in the middle of the attacking end of the field for the Lady Rebels to take a 1-0 lead. After a bouncing ball caught a Fort Campbell defender on the hand in the box, Chamberlaine then scored the penalty kick at 16:15 to extend the lead to 2-0.
Less than a minute later, a pass deflected off a Fort Campbell defender into the net for an own goal and the Todd County Central lead was 3-0.
Chamberlaine would add two more goals in the second half, one at 61:00 and one at 73:00 to finish out the scoring for the Lady Rebels.
The Lady Rebels advance to 6-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight.
The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons fall to 1-7 for the season as they were shut out for the third straight match.
