The Todd County Central Rebels appear to get getting hot at the right time of the season. The Rebels won their 8th match in a row and fourth in a row by shutout, rolling past Fort Campbell 7-0 Thursday night in Elkton.

It took the Rebels just 1:10 to get on the board as Tanner Henderson scored a long shot across the front of the goal to put the Rebels up 1-0. Four minutes later, Ivan Lopez scored through traffic in front of the goal to extend the lead to 2-0.

Horacio Herrera found the net on a long shot from the right side at 22:30 to push the lead to 3-0. That would be how things stood at the break.

The Fort Campbell defense, led by efforts from Sam Atoubi, Kaleb Talbot, and Mateo Cerritos Gatto kept things that way until late in the second half when the Rebels put the game on ice with a flurry of scores.

Charlie Campbell scored twice. Cole Gilbert and John Cardwell also found the net over the final 23 minutes as the Rebels pulled away to the 7-0 win.

Ric Garcia-Sears finished with a big night in goal, slamming the door on what few opportunities the Fort Campbell Falcons were allowed by the Todd Central defense. He finished the night with five saves.

The Rebels now are 10-3 on the year and get ready for Saturday’s All A sectional matchup with Owensboro Catholic.

Fort Campbell falls to 4-4 with the loss. The Falcons battle UHA in a district matchup Saturday night on post.
