Zack Robinson and Brett Harris headed in goals and the Todd County Central defense limited Owensboro Catholic to seven shots as they defeated the Aces 4-1 Saturday to advance to the All A Classic State Soccer Tournament.

The Rebels will play at Collegiate High in Louisville next Saturday at 1:00 Eastern time.

OCath ambushed the Rebels early as a ball that wasn’t cleared properly by Todd Central five minutes in led to Brody Martin banging home his 19th goal of the season.

Todd Central’s defense stiffened and didn’t allow a shot by the Aces for the remainder of the half.

The Rebels answered 11 minutes later when Trey Osborne fired home a laser from 30 yards out to knot the score at 1-1.

Robinson’s first header came in the 25th minute and gave the Rebels a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Both teams struggled to get good looks in the first 15 minutes of the second half as the defenses did a good job of clearing the ball out of their zones.

Todd Central’s first shot of the second half came in the 57th minute when Chris Salazar boomed home a direct kick from 10 feet inside the midfield line. His fourth goal of the season gave the Rebels a 3-1 lead.

Inside the final two minutes, Charlie Campbell placed a cross that Brett Harris headed home for the final 4-1 margin.

The Rebels outshot the Aces 22-7. Todd Central Ricky Garcia-Sears made six saves as the Rebels beat Owensboro Catholic for the first time in six career meetings.

Before the Rebels head off to Louisville, they will carry a nine-match winning streak into Tuesday’s district match at Logan County.

Todd County (11-3) will meet Collegiate (9-1-1) for the first time in school history next Saturday in Louisville.
