UHA Boys Ease Past HCA for Fifth-Straight Win

The University Heights Academy boys’ soccer team won its fifth straight match and completed an 8th-District sweep on Monday with a 10-0 victory over visiting Heritage Christian Academy.

The Blazers recorded their third shutout in the last four games and won for the ninth time in ten outings to improve to 9-4-1 ahead of a visit from Henderson County on Thursday.

Lincoln Hauret got UHA started off an assist by Logan Miller with just over five minutes played, but the Blazers had to wait for Matthew Hauret’s goal with help from Griffin McCoy to double the advantage with 17 minutes left in the first half.

Three unassisted goals in less than two minutes put the Blazers in control.  Matthew Hauret added his second, Ollie Marschand scored for the third-straight game, and McCoy got on the scoresheet to make it 5-0.

After the break, McCoy added his second goal and assisted on another.  Defender Ryan Luckey netted his first of the season off a pass from Matthew Hauret, and Lincoln Hauret bagged his second on McCoy’s second assist.

After holding HCA scoreless in the first half, senior goalkeeper Que Quarles took full advantage of his opportunity at forward, scoring the first goal of his career off an assist from fellow senior Prit Patel to make it 10-0 with 26:55 left on the clock.

Hayden Fitzsimmons took over in goal in the second half for the Blazers, making a single save to contribute to the team’s fourth clean sheet.

McCoy’s brace took him to a team-high 15 goals, and Lincoln and Matthew Hauret each scored twice.

Landon Wells made eight saves in goal for Heritage Christian.  The Warriors will make the short trip to the Stadium of Champions on Thursday to face Christian County.
