On a day when low scores were difficult to come by, Caldwell County’s golfers got off to rough starts at the 1st Region golf tournament Tuesday at Drake Creek Golf Club in Ledbetter.
Collin Whittington had the low round for the Tigers with a 90, but Caldwell did not have anyone qualify for the State First Round next week at Calvert City Country Club.
An 81 would have been needed to advance.
Cole Wyatt had a 94 for Caldwell while Scott Cortner shot 104, Ryan Hammett 105 and Carter Whittington 112.
The Tigers finished with a team total of 393.
McCracken County won the team championship with a 311. Marshall County was runner-up at 315.
Marshall’s D.J. Morris was medalist with a 1-under-par 71.
Lyon County’s Travis Perry and McCracken County’s Landon Hunt were each one shot back.
