
Conlee Lindsey has advanced to the state first round for the second straight season under the new format after finishing second at the Region 2 Golf Tournament on Monday.
Lindsey shot a 6-over par 77 with birdies on No. 2 and No. 18.
Madisonville-North Hopkins senior Karra Tucker repeated as region champion with a score of 6-under par 65.
Lindsey’s day helped the Lady Blazers to a fifth-place team finish with a score of 395.
Allie Sandifer finished in 18th place with a personal best score of 95. She had a birdie on the par-4 14th hole.
Campbell Lindsey also had a birdie in her round and finished in 28th place with a score of 100, which was a 29-shot improvement from her region score last year.
Caroline Tucker, playing in her first region tournament, shot a 123 to finish tied for 48th place.
Ava Roberts gutted through nine holes but had to withdraw due to sickness.
Daviess County edged Madisonville by two shots to win the region title. Both teams will advance to the state first round next week at the Calvert City County Club.
