As she nears the program’s career scoring record, Trigg County’s Lania Hite shows no signs of slowing down after bagging five goals in the Lady Wildcats’ 10-0 win over hosts Christian County on Wednesday.

The Lady Wildcats had to wait 30 minutes to find the back of the net against the Lady Colonels, but goals came thick and fast afterward on the way to their eighth-straight victory.

Hite found the breakthrough off an assist from Avery Ethridge with just under ten minutes left in the first half, and a Christian County own goal made it 2-0 at the break.

Hite was on target again off a pass from Hallie Joiner with only 30 seconds played, the first of five Trigg goals in the first ten minutes of the second half.

Addison Humphries scored with help from Camryn Boone, and Hite scored twice in less than a minute on assists by Maggie Wolfe and Joiner.

Joiner bagged the next two goals, with Hite assisting on the first, to make it 8-0.  Humphries got her second goal on Hite’s second assist, and Hite finished the match off in style with a shot from outside the box after a pass from Ethridge.

Anna Sink was only called into action four times on the way to the Lady Wildcats’ seventh shutout.

Christian County slipped to 6-9 ahead of a trip to Eddyville on Thursday to face Lyon County.

Trigg improved to 14-2 and is off until Monday when the Lady Wildcats return to the Stadium of Champions to play Hopkinsville.
