Carson Powell made school history Tuesday when he became the first golfer from Heritage Christian Academy to tee off at a KHSAA region golf tournament. In fact. he’s the first HCA athlete to compete in a KHSAA postseason event.
Powell had a consistent day on the course, shooting a 51 on the front nine and 50 on the back nine for a score of 101.
The HCA junior won the Kentucky Christian Athletic Association state title this spring at Western Hills Golf Course.
With HCA making the move to KHSAA as a full member over the summer, Powell will have one more shot at qualifying for the state tournament first round next year.
