Maybe University Heights Academy and Madisonville-North Hopkins will get to settle the issue in the 2nd Region tournament. Tuesday night, the two teams battled to a 2-2 stalemate on the Lady Maroons’ home pitch.
Audrey Grise gave the Lady Blazers the early lead in the match, finding the net to put UHA up 1-0 in the opening half.
The Lady Maroons battled back and tied the match at 1-1 at the 27:00 mark.
University Heights appeared to have momentum on their side when Kendall Hancock scored off an assist from Skylar Cantrell at 35:35, giving the Lady Blazers a 2-1 lead that they would take into the break.
Madisonville evened the match at 2-2 at the 63:47 mark. Neither team would find the net again for the rest of the match.
With the draw, UHA goes to 13-2-1 on the season, while Madisonville goes to 7-7-1.
The Lady Blazers will close out the regular season Thursday evening when they host Mayfield.
