The Christian County Lady Colonels continue to position themselves as one of the teams that could contend for the 2nd Region championship. The Lady Colonels picked up their second straight sweep Thursday night, cruising past Russellville in three sets.
The Lady Colonels never let the Lady Panthers believe they had a chance in this one. Christian County did not allow more than eight points in any set.
Christian County won the opening set 25-8 and then completed the sweep of the match by winning the second and third sets by identical 25-5 scores.
The Lady Colonels, who entered the evening as the third-ranked team in the region according to the KHSAA RPI rating, improved to 13-7 on the year. They head off to Paducah this weekend to take part in the Quad State Tournament.
