After falling behind in the first four minutes of the match, the University Heights Academy Blazers scored four unanswered goals to defeat Mayfield 4-1 on Senior Night at Givens Field.
The win snapped a four-game losing streak after the Blazers had won five straight.
Lincoln Suiter got Mayfield (5-9-1) on the board in the fourth minute, notching his 11th goal of the season.
UHA answered five minutes later when Lincoln Hauret scored his eighth goal of the season.
The Blazers went up 2-1 when Griffin McCoy fed Matthew Hauret for the go-ahead tally.
In the second half, Logan Miller scored off an assist from Matthew Hauret to pad UHA’s lead to 3-1.
McCoy closed out the scoring with eight minutes left off a feed from Hugh Sisk. McCoy’s goal was his team-leading 17th of the season.
Quinton Quarles made five saves in goal for the Blazers, lowering his goals-allowed average to 2.1.
UHA improved to 10-8-1 and will enter next week’s district tournament as the number one seed. They will play in Tuesday’s semifinal against the winner of Monday’s match between Heritage Christian Academy and Fort Campbell.
