Hopkinsville Turns Back Trigg County Three Sets to One (w/PHOTOS)

The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers celebrated Senior Night Thursday by putting an end to their four-match losing skid. The Lady Tigers knocked off the Trigg County Lady Wildcats in four sets.

Hopkinsville came out of the gate strong, winning the opening set 25-13. Trigg County battled back and won the second set 25-19 to even the match at one set apiece. The set win was just the third of the season for the Lady Wildcats.

But, that would be the end of the rally for Trigg County. Hoptown won the second set 25-9 and then closed out the match by winning the fourth set 25-16 to pick up the win three sets to one.

Ajayla Shiraef had one of her best nights of the season, finishing with 18 kills, two blocks, and two digs. Amy Toms and Brooke Stewart had five assists each for the Lady Tigers.

Hopkinsville improves to 6-13 for the year. The Lady Tigers will be in Paducah this weekend for the annual Quad State Tournament.

Trigg County drops to 0-12. The Lady Wildcats will be back in action Monday when they travel to Hopkins County Central.
