Kentucky football put together their best game of the season on Saturday, defeating the No. 22 Florida Gators 33-16 at Kroger Field. Ray Davis had a career day, rushing for 280 yards on 26 carries while also scoring three touchdowns. Davis added one catch for nine yards that also went for a score, accounting for 24 of Kentucky’s 33 points.
The Wildcats were suffocating on defense, holding the Gators to 4-13 on third down and 2.4 yards per carry. Kentucky absolutely owned the trenches on both sides of the ball – which was the main concern coming into Saturday’s game. The Wildcats improve to 5-0 on the season and as each game goes by, they look more like a double-digit win team.
Now, head coach Mark Stoops and his team will prepare for a road matchup at the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7 PM ET with coverage on ESPN.
