Make it a ‘perfect’ regular season in the 2nd Region for the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers. UHA picked up its 17th straight win over 2nd Region opponents with a four-set win at Crittenden County Monday night.
Over the past two seasons, the Lady Blazers are 32-4 against region opponents. Two of those losses came to Madisonville-North Hopkins and one each to Henderson County and Crittenden County.
Monday night, the Lady Blazers cruised through the first two sets, winning 25-12 and 25-16 to go up two sets to none.
Crittenden County fought back and took the third set 25-19.
But that would be the end of any comeback as University Heights closed out the match with a 25-16 win in the fourth set.
The Lady Blazer attackers had huge nights at the net. Olivia Oakley had 17 kills. Julia Thomas and Chayse Gilliland added 11 kills each. Sarah Peebles had another big night setting things up for her teammates.
With the win, the Lady Blazers go to 29-2 on the year. The Lady Blazers will look for their 30th win of the season Tuesday night when they travel to Todd County Central
