A win over the defending 2nd Region champions highlighted the weekend for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers. The Lady Tigers were in Paducah to take part in the annual Quad State volleyball tournament.
The Lady Tigers played a pair of matches Friday evening. Hopkinsville dropped a straight-set decision to Todd County Central (25-19,25-15). The Tigers also lost to Community Christian, of Paducah (25-17, 25-10).
Hopkinsville returned to the court Saturday for three more contests. Hoptown fell to Crittenden County in two sets (25-11, 25-19). The Lady Tigers then dropped a two-set match to 7th District foe Hopkins Central (25-7, 25-11). Hopkinsville closed out the event with a straight-set win over Madisonville-North Hopkins, winning 25-19 and 25-19.
The Lady Tigers had big weekends from Ajayla Shiraef, Madysen Lawrence, and Amy Toms.
With the weekend results, Hopkinsville now stands at 7-17 on the season. The Lady Tigers are back on the court Tuesday as they host Madisonville-North Hopkins.
