The Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors appear to be making strides on the volleyball court at the right time. With the regular season inside the final two weeks, the Lady Warriors came away Monday night with a three sets to one win over the McLean County Lady Cougars.
HCA has now won five of its last seven matches.
The Lady Warriors looked to be cruising right along after the first two sets. HCA won the first set 25-18 and then followed that up with a 25-17 win in the second set to go up two sets to none and looked to be on their way to a sweep.
However, the Lady Cougars said ‘not so fast.’ McLean County battled back to take the third set 25-14 to cut the lead to two sets to one.
The fourth set was a knockdown battle, with Heritage Christian finally taking a 26-24 win to close out the match 3-1.
Katie Cansler had another big night with 10 kills and 9 digs. Bralee Fowler ended up with five kills and two assists. Hadlee Hayes had four kills, 17 digs, and 11 assists.
The win moves Heritage Christian to 11-18 on the year. The Lady Warriors are scheduled to close out the regular season Thursday at home against the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers.
