The University Heights Academy Lady Blazers are back in the 8th District girls’ soccer championship match for the ninth year in a row. The Lady Blazers advanced by rolling past the Fort Campbell Lady Falcons 11-0 Tuesday night at the Stadium of Champions.

The match ended at the half due to the 11-goal lead for the Lady Blazers.

UHA settled this one early. Audrey Grise scored just 08:50 into the game to go up 1-0. Kendall Hancock took a pass from Skylar Cantrell and found the net at 11:06 to extend the lead to 2-0. Cantrell scored less than a minute later and it was 3-0 and the landslide was on for the Lady Blazers.

Cantrell assisted on a Kendall Hancock goal and then scored two of her own over the next eight minutes and the lead was 6-0. It took less than three minutes for Alyssa Grise and Audrey Perry to find the net and run the lead out to 8-0.

Two goals from Gracie Ausenbaugh and another from Kendall Hancock would finish out the scoring for the half and the match for the Lady Blazers.

The Lady Blazer pressure kept the Lady Falcons back in their own end of the field and allowed Fort Campbell no scoring opportunities in the match.

UHA improves to 15-2-1 with the win, which was their 11th shutout of the season. The Lady Blazers will take on Hopkinsville in the championship match, which has now been moved to Wednesday night due to the threat of rain in the area on Thursday.

Fort Campbell sees its season come to an end at 2-11-0.
