Conlee Lindsey put together her best two-day state tourney score this week at the Leachman Buick GMC State Golf Tournament at the Bowling Green Country Club.
Making her third appearance at the state championship, the University Heights Academy junior tied for 53rd place with a two-day total of 174, three shots better than her 51st-place total from last year.
Lindsey shot a first-day 85, finding the fast greens hard to navigate. She followed it up with a round of 89 Wednesday that saw her finish 3-over par on her final six holes.
It was the second straight year Lindsey advanced past the state first round to compete at the two-day championships in Bowling Green.
Last year, the KHSAA added a state first round that followed the region tournament. Those who advanced to the championship round played two rounds with no cut.
