It is an exceptional accomplishment for a Kentucky high school volleyball team. The University Heights Academy Lady Blazers picked up their 30th win of the season Tuesday night with another impressive win, this one coming on the road at Todd County Central, where the Lady Blazers picked up their 25th straight set win of the year.

It was a match that the Lady Blazers controlled from the beginning, putting a big of a damper on the Senior Night celebration for Todd County Central.

UHA took the opening set 25-14 and then ‘rinsed and repeated’ in the second set with another 25-14 win to go up two sets to none.

The Lady Rebels fought back in the third set but could not avoid being swept by the Lady Blazers as UHA closed out the set and the match with a 25-19 win.

Julia Thomas had another big night at the net for the Lady Blazers with 11 kills. Claire Chewning and Chayse Gilliland added eight each.

Sarah Peebles was her usual self at setting things up, finishing the night with an amazing 36 assists in just three sets of play. Maddie Meacham chipped in with 8 digs on the night.

For Todd County Central, Allyssa Wofford and Lynnlee Jones ended up with six kills each. Chloe Willis had 11 assists and Shelby Holderman added nine for the Lady Rebels.

Todd Central falls to 14-16 with the loss. They are off until October 14, when they will go to Caldwell County for matches against the Lady Tigers and Graves County.

UHA improves to 30-2 for the year. The 30 wins ties a school record. The Lady Blazers will have the chance to break that record when they take on Apollo in Blazer Gym on October 13.
