In a matchup between a pair of teams looking to build some momentum as the volleyball regular season winds down, Madisonville-North Hopkins put an end to a three-game skid and extended Hopkinsville’s losing run with a 3-1 victory on Tuesday.

The Lady Maroons’ fifteenth win in a row over Hoptown saw them move to 9-17 with a district matchup with Hopkins County Central on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers hadn’t taken a set from Madisonville since 2019, but a 25-17 victory in the opener put them on top.  However, the Lady Maroons answered with a pair of 25-17 wins to take a 2-1 advantage.

Hopkinsville fought to knot the match in the fourth set, but Madisonville held on for a 25-22 win.

A fourth-straight defeat leaves the Lady Tigers at 6-17 ahead of a trip to Heritage Christian Academy.  The Lady Warriors won both previous meetings this season without dropping a set.
