Caldwell Survives Marathon Match Against Union Again

For the second time this season, the Caldwell County Lady Tigers have defeated Union County in a five-set marathon.

The Caldwell volleyball team opened the season with a 25-21, 25-19, 10-25, 19-25, 17-15 triumph over the Bravettes at the CAB gym in Princeton.

The rematch was Thursday night at Union County.

The Bravettes led that match two sets to one before Caldwell again came back to capture a 25-16, 20-25, 13-25, 25-22, 15-13 victory.

Benashka Thomas had 12 kills and four blocks as the Lady Tigers improved to 13-14 on the season.

Brylee Butts had nine kills, two blocks and eight digs while Rylee Thompson recorded six kills, 21 digs and five service aces and Kylee White totaled 37 assists, two kills, five digs and four aces.

Ellie Ramey had five kills, three digs and two aces. Morgan Aikins had three kills, a block and five digs.

T.J. Goodwin had 19 digs and a kill. Chevy McGowan added one kill.

Tink Clark had nine digs and Anna Giltz had eight digs.

Caldwell is now 17-3 all-time against Union.

The Bravettes are 12-9 this season.

The Lady Tigers will try to get back to .500 on Tuesday when they visit Hopkinsville.

Caldwell’s girls will play at home again next Thursday against Christian County.
