Could this be the year Kentucky coach Mark Stoops gets his first win over Georgia?

Former UK coach Rich Brooks didn’t go quite that far during an appearance on The Lean Report on WLAP-AM but he did not rule out that it could happen.

“They (Georgia) are still great but I do not believe they are as good as they have been the last two years,” Brooks told Tom Leach. “That gives Kentucky a better chance but it is still difficult to win on the road.”

Of course, Georgia has won the last two national championships and is still ranked No. 1 going into Saturday night’s game in Athens.

“This is the best chance Kentucky has had to beat them because of the team Mark Stoops has put together,” Brooks said. “I have also seen more people score on Georgia this year.”

Both South Carolina and Auburn had leads against Georgia before the Bulldogs rallied in the second half to win both games.

“Kentucky has to continue to play defense like it has been and it has a chance to take down Georgia,” Brooks said. “You just have to play a better game than the team you are playing.

“The one thing you cannot do is turn the ball over and you have to be sound in the kicking game which they (Kentucky) have been all year. If those things happen then I think they have a real chance to pull off the upset.”

    1. That used to be an issue but I think this team is okay. If Cats lose, it won’t be due to not handling the attention
