After a disappointing loss in the 13th District championship Thursday night, the Todd County Central Rebels will look to repeat last year’s opening round performance in the 4th Region tournament, which gets underway Sunday afternoon at Bowling Green High School. The draw for the tournament was held Friday morning.
Last season, the Rebels dropped a heart-breaker to Franklin-Simpson in the district final and then promptly took down Russell County 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the regional tournament.
This year, the Rebels (13-5-1) will take on 15th District champion Glasgow (14-4-1). The Scotties claimed the district title with a 4-0 win over crosstown rival Barren County.
Todd County Central and Glasgow did not play this season. Their last meeting came in the All A Classic last season when the Rebels took a 2-0 win. Prior to that contest, the Scotties had won five in a row over Todd County Central.
With a win in the quarterfinals, the Rebels would advance on to Wednesday nights semifinals at 5:30, where they would face the winner of Russell County (11-3-2) and Warren Central (10-9-0).
