The Lexington Clinic Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of central Kentucky, has awarded 11 scholarships to Centre College student-athletes headed into medical professions.

The foundation uses scholarships, grants, and community outreach programs to promote education, healthcare and community development.

Board president Andrew Dieruf has presented scholarships to Morgan Crowe, Bailey Rucker, Emma Bryant, Maggie Corbett, Mrunali Damuruli, Grace Dutcher, Alli Helmes, Christina Jeffers, Margaret Ralston, Emma Vincent and Lilly Zehnder as part of the foundation’s commitment to supporting those heading into the medical profession.

Dieruf  said the students were picked because they had demonstrated “exceptional dedication to academic pursuits” at Centre College.

Dieruf, partner at Besten and Dieruf, PLLC, and co-founder of The 1926 Collective designed to help Centre College female students-athletes, gave out the scholarships after Centre College women’s soccer team defeated Berry College 1-0 recently.

“These scholarships are our way of investing in the future of our community,” Dieruf said.
