
Cole Branson and Jack Gentry each had hat tricks as Henderson County rolled past Hopkins County Central 10-0 Tuesday night in opening round action at the 2nd Region tournament in Madisonville.
The Colonels (12-4-3) advance to the regional semifinals on Wednesday where they will face Christian County (8-10) at 7:30 p.m.
Henderson scored two goals in the first 5 minutes against Hopkins Central and led 5-0 just 15 minutes into the contest.
Branson also added two assists in the win.
Carson Weiss had two goals while Lincoln Black and Cameron Vick had one tally apiece.
Tage Vekseth-Hahn, Miles Pryor and Ayden Wilson each recorded two assists.
Carson Emmick recorded two saves in the Henderson net.
The Colonels have outscored opponents 89-17 this season.
The Storm finished their season with a record of 3-11-1.
Henderson has played in the 2nd Region championship match each of the past five years. The Colonels won championships in 2020 and 2021.
A win over Christian County would put Henderson into Thursday’s championship match.
