PREVIEW – Lady Rockets Looking For Sixth Straight District Title

The Crittenden County Lady Rockets have positioned themselves to win a sixth straight district volleyball title, while Livingston Central is looking for its first big trophy since 2014. And Trigg County carries a two-game winning streak into the postseason after dropping their first 15 matches.

Those are the storylines heading into Tuesday’s 5th District Tournament at Livingston Central High School.

Action begins Tuesday evening in Smithkand at 6:00 as second-seed Livingston Central (9-10) takes on third-seed Trigg County (2-15). The Lady Cardinals picked up sweeps in both of their regular season meetings with Trigg County and have won seven straight against the Lady Wildcats.

The winner of the 6:00 match will advance on to take on top-seed Crittenden County (14-13) in the title match at 7:30. The Lady Rockets took sweeps in both of their matches against Trigg County and Livingston Central during the regular season. Crittenden has won 17 straight matches against Livingston Central and 16 straight against Trigg.

Crittenden County has won 33 straight games against district opponents dating back to the 2017 district championship match won by Trigg County.
