
Trigg County finished in fourth place Saturday at the King and Queen of the West Invitational at Christian County High School.
The Wildcats may have also found themselves some depth heading into region week.
Riley Thompson recorded the top finish for the Wildcats, crossing the finish line in fifth place in 18:17 over the 3.1-mile course. It was his third top-five finish this season and sixth time in the top 10.
Freshman Brody Renfroe, running his first-ever cross country meet, finished 17th in 20:14. Renfroe double-dips, kicking for the Wildcat football team. He also ran middle distance for the Trigg track and field team in the spring.
Matthew Reeves finished in 29th place in 21:27 and Marlee Reeves was 39th in 22:48, setting a new personal best.
Freshman Grant Gallogly notched a season-best finish of 33rd place in 22:03, improving over four minutes from his time on the same course in August.
As a team, Trigg County finished in fourth place with 85 points, eight behind third place Northwest. Warren East won the team title with 31 points.
Trigg County will run in the Class 2A region meet in Owensboro on Saturday.
