The University Heights Academy cross country team finished in ninth place at Saturday’s Class 1A region cross country meet and will send one runner to the state meet.
Freshman Jude Finch crossed the finish line in 24th place in a time of 20:39. His time qualifies him for the state meet next weekend at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
Seventh grader Graham Conrad finished in 31st place with a personal-best time of 21:04. Ryan Luckey also recorded a new best time. He was 38th in 21:57.
Garrett Bowling was 57th in 24:55. Jack Cavanah came in 58th place in 25:13 and Logan Miller was 60th in 25:53. Clayton Lester began the race but withdrew due to cramping in the second mile.
UHA totaled 193 points to finish eighth, 27 points behind seventh-place Hickman County.
