A difficult season came to a difficult end for the Hopkinsville Tigers Friday night. The Tigers made the trip to Jefferson County and dropped a 49-14 decision to Pleasure Ridge Park.
With their loss to Allen-County Scottsville a week ago knocking them out of the playoffs, the Tigers now put the gear away and take some time off until off-season work gets underway.
A season that began with high hopes saw injuries and other issues take their toll on the Tigers over the course of the season. According to the KHSAA, Hopkinsville would end up forfeiting three games which the Tigers had also lost on the field. Those contests were against Mayfield, Christian County, and Clarksville.
Offensive struggles hindered the Tigers again Friday night as they have all season. The Tigers scored 20 or more points just three times in 2023.
On the other side, Pleasure Ridge Park saw its highest scoring output of the season in picking up its fifth win of the season.
Hopkinsville finishes the season at 1-9 and 1-4 in district play.
PRP improves to 5-5 and will take on Ballard in the opening round of the Class 6A playoffs next week.
