Kentucky basketball played their first of two exhibition games on Friday night, defeating Georgetown College 92-69. While Kentucky’s Blue-White scrimmage last weekend was led by freshman Rob Dillingham’s 40-point outburst, the charge in Friday night’s exhibition was led by veteran Tre Mitchell.
The veteran transfer from West Virginia led all scorers with 22 points while also grabbing a game-high nine rebounds in 33 minutes. With both Aaron Bradshaw and Ugonna Onyenso out dealing with injuries to their feet, Mitchell will be asked to play a “big” role for the Wildcats until either of those two can make their return to the court. His role will continue be even more significant between now and when Zvonimir Ivisic is cleared to play.
Veteran Antonio Reeves added 18 points while Dillingham continued to showcase his ability to score the basketball with 16. DJ Wagner and Justin Edwards struggled from the field, combining to shoot just 5-19.
The Wildcats will host Kentucky State on Thursday at Rupp Arena as their last exhibition before the season.

Wagner and Edwards are struggling to live up to their hype. I think they will come around by December, I the November games could get ugly.
