Wildcats Close Out Cross Country Season With 26th Place Finish at State (w/PHOTOS)

Riley Thompson closed out his Trigg County cross country career Saturday with a 73rd place finish at the KHSAA Class 2A state meet Saturday in Lexington.

Thompson finished with a time of 18:52 over the 3.1-mile course at the Kentucky Horse Park. The state meet returned to the horse park for the first time since 2019.

It was Thompson’s third run at the state meet and saw him improve 13 places over last year’s run.

Brody Renfroe, running in his third cross country event, finished in 125th place with a time of 19:56. Matthew Reeves was right behind in 126th place.

Travis Cavanaugh came in 161st place in 20:32 while Grant Gallogly was 215th in 21:54.

Dekon Perry was 235th in 22:59 and Marlee Reeves was 238th in 23:17.

As a team, Trigg County finished in 26th place with 596 points.

Class 2A State Meet
