While Travis Perry makes his name on the basketball court, he was quietly one of western Kentucky’s top golfers during the 2023 season.
Perry, who indicated earlier this week he planned to attend the University of Kentucky to play hoops, was named to the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association Second-Team All-Region 1 Team by the coaches.
The Lyon County senior missed winning back-to-back All A Classic region titles by a single stroke, finishing in second place.
He would go on to finish in 14th place at the All A Classic State Tournament – his second straight top-20 finish at the event.
Perry tied for second place at the region tournament, one shot behind the winner Marshall County’s D.J. Morris.
McCracken County’s Landon Hunt was named the region player of the year.
