Boyle County-Corbin Matchup Tonight has Plenty of Star Power

If you are going to the Corbin at Boyle County Class 4A quarterfinal game tonight in Danville, you are going to see two terrific teams.

Both teams are 12-0. Corbin has scored 458 points and allowed 56. Boyle has scored 571 points and allowed 237.

They have played three common opponents. Corbin beat Frederick Douglass 6-0, Taylor County 49-14 and Lexington Catholic 30-10 — a combined winning margin of 85-24. Boyle beat Douglass 28-7, Taylor 48-3 and Lexington Catholic 56-21 — a combined winning margin of 132-31.

Corbin quarterback Kade Elam, a University of Louisville baseball commit, is 138 of 188 passing for 2,344 yards and 26 scores with just two interceptions. He has run for nine touchdowns and 215 yards.

Boyle quarterback Sage Dawson, an Air Force football commit,  has completed 115 of 161 passes for 2,223 yards and 28 scores with only two interceptions. He has also rushed for 236 yards and three scores.

Corbin running back Guy Bailey has 96 rushing attempts for 707 yards and 15 scores and 16 catches for 232 yards and two scores. Boyle running back Avery Bodner has run the ball 108 times for 1,009 yards and 16 scores and caught 22 passes for 306 yards and four scores. He also has a team-high 63 tackles, including 11.5 tackles for loss, and one interception.

Corbin’s Stewart Carter has 50 catches for 1,030 yards and 13 scores, Cam Estep 33 catches for 457 yards and six scores and tight end Eli Pietrowski 12 catches for 272 yards and three scores.

Boyle junior Montavin Quisenberry, who has numerous Division I offers, has 34 catches for 737 yards and 12 touchdowns and has 40 rushes for 425 yards and 13 scores. He has also returned two punts and two kickoffs for touchdowns.On defense, Quisenberry had two interceptions and 38 tackles.

Another Boyle junior, Demauriah Brown, who leads the team with three interceptions, has 27 catches for 486 yards and five scores and Gordon Brown 16 catches for 512 yards and eight scores

Corbin twins Jacob Smith and Jerod Smith not only are Kentucky commits but are also Under Armour All-Americans.

Jacob Smith (6-4, 230) has 73 tackles, including five tackles for loss and four sacks. He has forced three fumbles and recovered two. He’s also made two interceptions. Defensive lineman Jerod Smith (6-3, 265 pounds) has 60 tackles, including 20 tackles for loss and eight sacks, along with two fumble recoveries

Parking lots at the Boyle County schools do not open until 4:30 p.m. Friday and tailgating will not be allowed to avoid taking up parking spots. Stadium gates will open at 5:30 with kickoff set for 7:30.
