Bagwell Hits for 39 as Lady Colonels Fall in Scrimmage at South Warren

Time now to get ready for the regular season for the Christian County Lady Colonels. The Lady Colonels closed out the preseason with their final scrimmage Tuesday night, dropping a 68-58 decision on the road at South Warren.

Christian County played the contest without starter NeVaeh Day, who was unavailable for the scrimmage.

The Lady Colonels, led by Anaysia Bagwell, outscored South Warren in the opening quarter 16-14. However, the Lady Spartan defense turned the tide in the second quarter limiting Christian County to just 6 points in the second while scoring 16 of their own. Additionally, after giving up 13 points to Bagwell in the first quarter, South Warren shut her out in the second.

Both teams put up 21 points in the second quarter, with South Warren then outscoring the Lady Colonels 17-15 in the final quarter of varsity play.

Anaysia Bagwell finished the evening with 39 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and two steals for Christian County. Lazarie Daniel added 8 points, 5 rebounds, and seven steals, while DaNiya Bradley chipped in with 7 points and 8 rebounds.

The Lady Colonels will officially open the season Tuesday night on the road at Muhlenberg County.
