It was time for the Christian County Lady Colonels to return the favor Tuesday night. Last year, the Christian County Lady Colonels dropped their season opener at home to Muhlenberg County by double figures. This time, they turned the tables, and boy did they.

Led by huge nights from Anaysia Bagwell, NeVaeh Day, and Lazarie Daniel, Christian County took a big first-quarter lead and rolled to a 70-42 win over the Lady Mustangs on their home floor.

Christian County opened quickly, taking an 18-7 lead after the first eight minutes of the game.

The Lady Colonel offense kicked it into another gear in the second quarter as they extended the lead out to 40-22 at the half.

There was some history in the second quarter. With her last basket of the opening half, sophomore Anaysia Bagwell passed the 1,000-point mark for her young career.

The Christian County defense limited Muhlenberg County to just nine points in the third quarter as the Lady Colonels extended the lead to 56-31 heading into the final quarter.

The defense continued to wreak havoc on the Lady Mustangs in the 4th quarter as Christian County allowed just three field goals as the Lady Colonels pulled away to the final 28-point margin.

NeVaeh Day had one of the best nights of her career, finishing with 21 points and 18 rebounds. Anaysia Bagwell added 18 points, 4 rebounds, and three steals. Lazarie Daniel got off to a big start with 17 points, 9 steals, and seven rebounds.

Brooklyn Stewart had 17 for Muhlenberg County. Taylor Wilkins added 14.

Christian County (1-0) gets back to action Saturday, taking on Upperman High School in the Faith Harbor KY/TN Challenge.
