Livingston Central ‘Wrings’ Out a Win at Fort Campbell in Season Opener

To say that Livingston Central’s Logan Wring was a handful for the Fort Campbell Falcons Tuesday night would be a bit of an understatement, a bit. The Livingston Central sophomore put up 38 points and pulled down 23 rebounds as the Cardinals opened their season with a 77-56 win on the Falcons home floor.

The Cardinals used the three-point shot to get out to the early lead in the game. Livingston knocked down four out of five long shots in the opening quarter to take a 25-17 lead. Those four would be the last of the night for the Cardinals.

Wring scored almost as many as the Falcons in the second quarter as the Cardinals extended the lead to 44-31 at the half. Wring had 13 points in the second.

The two teams were fairly even as the second half got underway. Livingston’s lead would be at 59-45 heading into the final quarter. Logan Wring again was the difference in the quarter adding 8 more points to his total.

And after three big quarters, Wring figured he might as well finish it out with another big one to end the game. He led the Cardinals with eight more in the final 8 minutes as Livingston Central took the 21-point win.

Maurice Moore was the only Falcon to reach double-figures with 11. Eric Greene added 9 points while Tyrek Anthony finished with 8.

In addition to Wring’s 38 points, Jack Thompson had 12 and Drew Hosick had 10 for the Cardinals.

Fort Campbell (0-1) hosts Caldwell County Thursday evening.
