The Dawson Springs girls look to be in a rebuilding mode after graduating their top four scorers from last year’s 7-21 squad.

Eighth grader Audrey McCoy is the top returning scorer after getting 2.8 points and 4.0 rebounds a contest last season.

Seniors Kimberly Hoover and Madeline Back were next on the scoring list last year at 2.1 and 2.0 points per game.

But the Lady Panthers must replace 35 of their 43 points a contest from a year ago.

Look for lots of youngsters to play key roles as Dawson Springs looks to build for the future.

Dawson’s girls also have a new head coach at the helm. Former Lady Panther Emilee (Workman) Seeger takes over for Amanda Scott. Scott stepped down last season after becoming the all-time winningest head coach for the Lady Panthers.

The Lady Panthers will get the 2023-24 campaign started Tuesday night with a trip to Christian Fellowship School in Marshall County.

The first home date is a girls and boys home doubleheader Saturday against Heritage Christian Academy from Hopkinsville.
