A slow start in the season opener was a bit more than the Todd County Central Rebels could overcome Tuesday night. McLean County used the big start and a big differential at the free throw line to pick up a 58-53 win in Calhoun.

The evening had a rough start for the Rebels as the Cougars took an 18-4 lead after eight minutes of the contest. Two Jamison Glass buckets made up the offense in the opening quarter for Todd County Central.

Using the 3-point shot, the Rebels began to fight their way back in the second quarter. Todd Central canned three shots from behind the line as the Rebels trimmed the lead to 32-24 at the half.

The Rebels then started using their big man to try and pull out the rally. Jamison Glass had 12 points in the third quarter as Todd County Central would close to within 45-39 heading into the final eight minutes.

Another big quarter by Jamison Glass in the fourth would turn out to be not quite enough to complete the rally. Glass scored ten more in the quarter but the Cougars held on for the five point win.

Glass finished his night with 30 points, 22 of them coming after halftime. Keshawn Moore added 8 for the Rebels.

McLean County was led by Gunnar Revelett with 23. Brodie Cline added 20 for the Cougars.

Free throws played a big role in the game. Todd Central shot just two free throws on the night, while McLean County went to the line 27 time.

Todd County Central (0-1) is back in action Saturday when they take on Hopkins County Central in Mortons Gap in the Cayce Mill Classic.
